This thing is fast and works with multiple cards at once.

I wanted a faster card reader and got what I wanted with this Kingwin USB HUB Adapter with Card Reader. I transferred over 14 gigabytes of photos from three memory cards simultaneously to a USB 3 external hard drive in about three minutes. It read a CF card, an SD card, and a micro SD card simultaneously, and the portable hard drive plugged into one of this thing's three USB 3 ports. That's a lot of data and a lot of maps! I also tried this thing on my old MacBook Air, which has USB 2 ports. It worked flawlessly, allowing me to connect a portable hard drive and read memory cards from a single USB port on the computer. It's something I've never been able to do before. I am very happy. The only thing I wish it was more portable. It measures around 1.5 x 2 x 3.5 inches and, believe it or not, is quite powerful compared to other card readers. However, it's good to have it on your desktop. The included USB 3 cable is thick and appears to be of good quality. The device itself is of good quality, with engraved labels, not just stickers or drawings. I'm talking about where next to the slots it says they are eg Micro SD, CF, SD etc. I use my laptop on the go and it would be nice if I could take this thing with me but it's too big for that, so i grab my smaller card reader and just use it the slot in my laptop is an sd card reader. Oh, there's one more thing. The CF card doesn't fit very far into this thing and it was a bit awkward at first. But it seems to be working fine.

Pros

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
