Review on 🎧 PAC SNI-1/3.5 Ground Loop Noise Isolator: Compatible with iPod, Zune, iRiver and More - Black by Brad Fleming

POOR case design, great sound quality (when working)

Here is a YouTube video review I made, read the description I put below at https://www.youtube.com/watch ?v =X3MIIzqUdBc ---------- This video is too long for the amount of content it contains. A long video jumps to 4min 15s and listens to the left channel dropping out depending on the position of the audio cable - bad! Great audio components but poor build quality makes for a poor product. This is the video of the second (first returned) block from PAC. The first showed the same behavior, except that if the wire made/opened contact with the circuit board (or whatever it was attached inside the case) it would send a noisy signal to the main unit, causing LOUD popping in the loudspeakers was generated. So loud that the first unit unfortunately blew out my passenger speaker! This is unacceptable! When you see a guitarist at a gig looking at the engineer after they've finished playing, they're usually waiting for a thumbs-up. Speaker protection is the main reason you'll individually mute when plugging and unplugging instruments (e.g. guitars) and microphones on stage. Unfortunately, given that my first two devices exhibited this issue, until the best grommets that actually clamp (or get a pad on) the cable are selected, I can't recommend it. It's a shame because the circuitry on this unit is otherwise good for the price compared to the competition - Radioshack's ground loop isolator sounds [badly] like a 64kbps MP3. For my third device, which arrived yesterday, I will first put some hot glue in the gap between the grommet and the cable to secure it. If it also breaks or faces the same problem; I'll hack it to check and post another video I think.
