These can be old markings.

Super loose because they weren't filled with ink. Half of them were dried upon arrival. Those that seemed normal dried up within the first few uses. I thought I would buy high quality markers but the cheap alcohol based markers I bought from Walmart were better quality than these. Maybe I got a bunk, I don't know, but it was a waste of time. I tried to return them but they wouldn't let me because they contain alcohol. However, Revane was kind enough to refund my money. Buyer beware
