Not quite sure how to check the sizes on this. I read many reviews saying these shoes are narrow and very small. I wear size 8 shoes. So I went down to women's size 9. They were quite big and roomy on my feet. My feet slipped even in the thickest socks. I didn't want to go back and the smaller size was too small so I decided to order 1/2 size down and then returned the one that never fit. When I wanted to order a smaller size, they were sold out. So I decided to try padded compression stockings and if they still don't work I'll be back. I found some amazing socks with tons of toe padding and healing. And you know, they fit my shoes really well, so I went with the size I was. Now I'm obsessed with socks too! So I think these shoes will be true to size or maybe just 1/2 size bigger. I accepted the suggestion to increase the size by 2 and I'm not sure if that was the best idea. I measured my foot and compared it to the Tommaso size chart and it should give me the equivalent of an 8 1/2. (that was the one that sold out) But right now my 9 fits super to soft socks. If I need new shoes, I'll probably go down a size. In terms of shoes, these are great cycling shoes. Very durable and easy to put on and take off. The Velcro closure makes it easy to undo or loosen at the top of the foot while keeping the cleats in place. I only had to pull up once and that was after the first few days of use.
