Review on Empire Level E250 Professional Combination: A Robust Tool for Precision and Efficiency by Josh Sharp

I almost left a very long review on why I gave this square combo 2 stars when so many other people gave it 5 stars. There are people who leave very long reviews that really help me EXTREMELY with the purchase. I have chosen not to go into all these details. I would give this square 1 star but the rule was actually very simple. The problem was the rule itself. The tip of the rule was 12 inches long, as intended. The bottom of the rule was 11 and 15/16 inches long, which should NOT be. Each end of the bottom of the rule was 1/32 inch shorter than it should be, making it not square at each end. This difference in length causes all sorts of problems familiar to anyone familiar with combination squares. It should be an easy thing to do right in the manufacturing process. I really wanted this square to earn 5 stars because it was made in the USA and was reasonably priced. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place that is very close to a place this is the one for you. If you are looking for a budget square that can be used to measure marks on the end of a ruler, this is NOT for you. I bought the 6 inch E255 range, had the same issue and left the same review. I have emailed Empire to let them know of this issue and am currently awaiting their response.
