TL/DR: Helps with allergies but not the best for pet hair, could definitely be better. We adopted two quarantine kittens even though I'm allergic (oh lol). Along with daily allergy meds, an inhaler, and some air filters, I've noticed a huge difference when using this device on a regular basis. I use it weekly on our couch, in my chair, and on my bed — pretty much anywhere cats go (believe me, we've tried to keep them out of bed, but they're convinced they are). So if you are specifically looking for it to treat allergies, this is a good option. It doesn't scoop up anything very well, especially cat hair, and it feels like a new step has been created as a result. We have to use the couch with a regular vacuum *then* to disinfect. Who really wants to add *another* step to their cleansing routine, you know? Maybe the more expensive version has better suction power, but this one doesn't. It's ok, but definitely missing a lot. It would be perfect if it had more suction power - that doesn't matter what...never mind. Odd benefit: its shape hugs things like pillows and pillows really well, so everything looks nice and fluffy after use! Rschunimagu
