I've posted some pictures to show what I made. I insulated 2 sides first, the floor and the roof, but didn't see the point of insulating the exit/entrance walls with these huge doors. It's pointless. I painted 2 coats of paint and 2 coats of polyurethane. very thin indeed. I don't see how it can support a cat and not hang out of the ducts they are inserted into. So, like the previous reviewer, I cut out a 1/2 inch thick piece of plywood just slightly smaller than the base, wrapped it in a trash bag and secured it to the base from the inside with E6000 glue and 4 screws. the plastic should provide more protection on the bottom and the thin bottom can't sag now. I used wood glue in all the joints before joining them. I also applied E6000 bead to the top of the roof because it's a bit rough birch edge protrudes at the top, and when it gets wet the boards warp. I also tested the heating pad and it worked great! Roasted Heat. This is for a cat I have been feeding for 3 years. i thought she was wild but last summer she decided she like me and now she is too cute and kind to be wild so 3 years ago someone left her 😿 now she comes to me every morning, to eat, sleep, play and receive love, but do not like to stay at home for more than a few hours, so this house. sitting on a 5 foot ledge on a small outdoor table so she is above ground and in front of my house in front of my sliding glass door so she can see me. I hope it is adequately sheltered but we are east facing so there are strong winds and very cold winter weather. I'll post another photo of the setup after I post it tomorrow. Just in time for the cold next week. I just hope she uses it! Pretty little house but the thin floor definitely needs reinforcement. I have a cedar siding that I plan to cover next spring. Maybe I'll add it with more overhang for more weather protection.
