We keep our thermostat low on weekdays, so I had trouble adjusting the temperature in my cabin. I've tried the Christmas lights method, but they can get very hot and I've found it inconvenient to leave them on when no one is home. I looked at several Revain "heat zones" and decided on this one (Made in America!). It certainly did the job of controlling the temperature in the cabin. On low it stabilized at 72 degrees. On average, it rose to 84 degrees. I read in many places that the optimal temperature for brewing is 76, so I chose 72. I can't even imagine what a high temperature could do. Overall I think it's a good product, but I think there should be less inconsistency in the temperature settings. I think you could brew beer in a cold cellar with a strap if you wanted to, but that's out of the question for me. I would recommend it to my bookmaker friends.
