I've been using mine for many years and one day I had to replace the fabric because someone didn't know you couldn't cut pastries with a knife. So remember - don't cut the dough with a sharp knife while it's on a napkin! These boards come in very handy as they help to roll out the dough to the desired size the first time. In addition, not much flour is needed to roll out the dough, so that the dough does not become too floury and dry out. I just bought this for my mom for Christmas. I know she will love it as much as I do!
