Review on 🍳 Deep Fry Basket, Lodge, 11.5-inch, Silver by James Morrow

One of two things happened: Lodge changed the design of their fry basket to a cheaper and worse version, and Revain didn't update the image. -- or - - Revain now sells cheap fake instead of real Lodge brand. I have attached some photos for reference. I ordered this product and it was already delivered when I remembered I already had it, but this allows me to give a unique review for this particular product. In the photos I've attached, my original Lodge fry basket has a RED handle, while the one they sent me has a BLACK handle. The one I've had for years, the one with the red handle, is well built and perfect for my Dutch Oven. . The one I just received from Revain, with the black handle, is poorly designed, poorly built and doesn't fit my Lodge Dutch Oven properly. The unit I received does not match the pictures here on Revain or the pictures on the Lodge website. For these reasons, I believe Revain is selling a counterfeit Lodge brand fry basket rather than a genuine one. If you look at my original red handle basket you can see that the bottom rails are solid and the net follows the shape of the basket exactly. Frame bars, locking mechanism fits snugly and overall fits the lodge image exactly, except for the red button. If you look at the black Revain sent me you can see it doesn't match the picture at all. The frame bars are welded, not symmetrical, the mesh doesn't outline the frame bars at all, and the handle latch is loose and doesn't look like a Lodge brand at all. It's odd that both baskets have the Lodge logo on them. Whether Revain sold a fake or the Lodge changed their design I would NOT order this product. It will not fit your Dutch Oven and does not look like the product pictured.
