I made this because I wanted a solid front door mat under the porch. This rug is heavy and looks beautiful. I polish my shoes on it and then I go in and polish my shoes on a rug that dries my shoes. This mat won't dry out your shoes, it just helps wash away the dirt. It's pricey, but I recommend it to those who have a porch over their front door. Then take a rug-like rug for the inside of the front door to dry your shoes.
