. The one I have is very accurate and doesn't need reloading other than rubbing the blade from time to time. After that it always goes back to zero. Being able to read both metric and SAE data with one tool saves me a lot of time as I often work with both these days. One thing I would recommend for a manufacturer is to stamp mm/in at the beginning of the scale where you start reading, not at the end. For some reason most vernier calipers have a linear scale marking at the end, which is inconvenient, but after a while you realize which scale is for metric readings (the top scale in this case) and which is for SAE. Actually I find it faster. Use this analog scale instead of a digital because I trust it more and I don't have to search for zero every time I want to measure something like I do when using a digital scale, especially when tolerances are critical. 01/10/2020 Addendum: This has become one of my favorite measuring devices and I use it almost every day. When closed, it is still precisely set to zero. I've been using it since November and have never changed a single battery. Having both metric and inch readings is a huge benefit!
