Review on Weber 7444 22-1/2-Inch One-Touch Cleaning System Kit: Enhance Your Grilling Experience with this Silver Accessory by Jenn Plata

I recently had to pull out my 1981 22" Weber charcoal grill (model #71001?), clean it and fix it for use. Luckily I found the porcelain enamel underneath, anything that had been burned from the soot and grease on the kettle and lid remained unharmed (hooray!), however the lower blades of the one-touch cleaning system were so rusted that it was unlikely that they could burn coals inside the boiler, so I ordered this replacement kit. I was happy to see that all the necessary parts were included in the kit, as well as a number of illustrations for assembly instructions (follow them carefully). Removing the old ventilation system was not easy, nor was its attachment firmly rusted based on the kettle CHARCOAL GRILL PARTS, One Touch Cleaning System Kit for 22" One Touch Charcoal Grills, part no. 7444). I'm sure that years of exposure to ash (e.g. potash, strong base) of an old vent system is a major contributor to its severe corrosion. I will be cleaning the kettle and vent blades after each use in the future.
