I got interested in bird watching about two years ago. I'm not sure my new hobby will last long and on a budget I bought a decent set of binoculars for less than $100. I am now into poultry farming extensively and needed an upgrade in the sub $500 range. You are perfect. I looked around in price comparisons and took the plunge to this relatively new manufacturer. These Vanguard Endeavor II 10x42 are worth the money. Excellent clarity and sharpness throughout the field of view, very good in low light, mechanics are smooth and precise. The weight and hand feel are great and the soft, wide proportioned neck strap is a nice bonus. The focus lock on the right eye is pretty decent. After reviewing my fellow bird watchers' $1,500+ high-performance goggles, I found disadvantages compared to them. But my colleagues agree that at this price point they definitely exceed all expectations. And the lifetime guarantee is an incredible and totally unexpected bonus. All in all wonderful.
