Great binoculars for the money

Excellent sharp image yet good durability and really comfortable viewing. I go to them for the really old Nikons that I have too. I get a little shaky at long distances, but the binoculars do a great job. I have to say I'm a little upset about this case. It's too small to attach a strap to binoculars, so in my experience you have to detach it every time to make a shoulder strap. It's okay, but when I'm carrying it in another backpack, it annoys me that I can't just leave the strap on the…

Inexpensive alternative to excellent optics

Very effective optics. No eye strain after I set the correct diopter. I like that the diopter adjustment can be locked so I don't have to worry about having to adjust it. I use them to see wildlife and landscapes and the clarity and colors are amazing. No chromatic aberrations were found. The focus wheel is no problem at all. I can quickly focus on moving subjects and get a sharp image. I warmly recommended these binoculars to my brother-in-law who was keen on expensive German glass. When he…

Great cases for binoculars and scopes

I got interested in bird watching about two years ago. I'm not sure my new hobby will last long and on a budget I bought a decent set of binoculars for less than $100. I am now into poultry farming extensively and needed an upgrade in the sub $500 range. You are perfect. I looked around in price comparisons and took the plunge to this relatively new manufacturer. These Vanguard Endeavor II 10x42 are worth the money. Excellent clarity and sharpness throughout the field of view, very good in low…

Cons
  • Style 90

For the money I should probably give them 4 stars. They have very clear glass, a wide sweet spot and a very nice design. They're a HUGE improvement over Vanguard's smaller attempt, ED (no '2'). But I can only rate them on how well they work with my eyes, and there's still too much chromatic aberration for my liking. rating here. If you are interested in a more detailed description of chromatic aberration, read this overview. The new and improved ED II controls CA much better, with yellow and…

Too many chromatic aberrations and other flaws to justify the price

Disadvantages: - chromatic aberration is poorly compensated even in the center, 2-3 times cheaper at binocular level, despite claimed ED/Hoya glass - not too sharp, even in the center, slightly washed out by strong CA and other aberrations - low light transmission (only 80% according to allbinos tests), thanks to the silver prism coating, which also gives the image a slightly yellowish tint - the focusing wheel is very hard and requires literally nano adjustments to focus as the full focus…

Sparkling clarity in a durable body

These binoculars inspire. Every time I look through them, I marvel at their sparkling purity and brilliance. I didn't have high end binoculars but I used older mid to low end models. I've also been involved with camera optics all my life, so you know what I see. This is a revelation. Reality looks better with them! Ha ha. I showed them to a friend and mentioned the price range and how much some of the fancy stuff cost and his comment was "What can you have that these don't have?" During my…
