Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Ciglow Portable Aluminum Motherboard for Computers by Rodney Mendoza

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's not easy to assemble, but it's worth it

The board and drive have been moved from the open rack chassis to the ciglow box. The MB runs fanless (ASRock J5005 board) and idles at 38 degrees Celsius with an ambient temperature of 28 degrees Fahrenheit compared to 29 degrees when idling in the test case. Better than we expected. There are several points worth paying attention to. To install the SSD, you must first remove the top cover. The bottom panel must be removed to install the motherboard. The power switch falls out. Before assembling, make sure it fits the hole on the front of the case, otherwise you need to reassemble it. We didn't do it and we had to do it. The fit is tight, difficult to insert the circuit board after attaching it to the bottom panel. Attach the small metal frame that comes with the ITX board or it will fall out or get stuck. But when you assemble it, everything will be right, safe and tight. If not, remove the drill. There are absolutely no instructions for the chassis. A sheet with the hard drive and motherboard installation procedures would be helpful, as well as a piece of circular tape to hold the power button in place during reassembly. A small Phillips screwdriver (emphasis on "small") is the only tool needed to install and drive the board into the case. For the price, this is definitely one of the best ITX cases we've seen.

Pros
  • Matte finish
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
