Our HVAC workers love it. He warned us not to overdo the Merv rating as it would tax the system. He said it was too heavy and it was like running to the mailbox in an N95 mask. I like the 6 pack because it lasts a year. Great filter for the home. Both my wife and daughter are allergic and we often have 2 cats and adopted kittens. We like the Merv 12 because it strikes a good balance between filtering out allergens and suffocating our system with too much resistance like the higher Mervs. Normally we change every 3 months but 2 months in summer when the system is running much more. We have found them to last 4 months in spring and fall when the system is used infrequently. In summer and winter they get about 2 months with heavy loads.
