I replaced my water tank for leaks every year before I started this. Since I've been using it we haven't had a leak in 4 years, let's knock on wood. Anecdotal evidence of course, but I'd say it's worth a try if your tank keeps leaking. Before you can use it, you need an adapter. It is listed on the same page and comes with a cartridge. We installed it right in front of the hot water tank after spitting out the remaining cold water. This means less water goes through and I believe the cartridge lasts longer that way. It says to replace it every 6 months, but there are few water users in our family, so we replace it about once a year. After a year I can shake it and still hear the splinters inside, but I don't know if that means the active ingredient is still there. Worth a try if you are about to swap out your water tanks. It seems to be working for us.
