I bought this to cover my chest and neck harness because the seat belt is giving me an allergic rash. It does the job! It feels very soft and plush - more plush than memory foam I would say. I'm not even sure if there's memory foam here because it doesn't look like memory foam. I also washed it before use, which would certainly be enough to get rid of the "cancer-causing chemicals". PS: If you're concerned about the cancer-causing chemicals in this product, you should also be concerned about everything you use, from personal care products to laundry detergent to clothes already on your back if you're like most are American consumers (including me). Oh, and that includes your cars, which emit the toxins and pollution you probably inhale on a daily basis. It's impossible to completely get rid of all chemicals or things that are perceived as "bad". If you find this seat belt cover convenient to use, buy one and wash it before use.
