Review on 🍳 Cuisinart GG45-25 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch by 18-Inch Double-Burner Griddle: Efficient and Versatile Cooking Solution by Derek Cage

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unworthy of the Cuisinart name

First of all, the handle design is amazing. They are firmly riveted to the pan and will never warp or break like some cheap woks sold here in America. And the glass lid is good. All woks should have some sort of lid to increase their versatility. However, this pan does not deserve the Cuisinart name. The first one I ordered had a notch on the top of the pan. I sent it back, and the second one had even more similar flaws. So I tried a third time. This one was missing a 3-inch trim strip on the rim of the pan. I returned, this time to get my money back, which took much longer than usual. However, Revain acted very quickly. Quality control at the factory where these pans are made. They've also been observed to be very light for the size of the pan, which isn't great for durability or heat distribution. The instruction manual also specifically states that this pan will NEVER be used on high heat! that it will be a wok (or frying pan) Woks should be used on high/instant heat! That is the cooking method they were designed for and what they are made for unique kitchen utensils. If I wanted a casserole, I would buy a Dutch Oven. The brochure also mentions that a wok should be 'seasoned' to extend its life (by 'cooking' in an oil-lined oven). This is normal and is exactly what you will do with a genuine Chinese low carbon steel wok. But if you can't use it in high heat, then what's the use? I recommend looking for either an authentic, low-carbon Chinese wok (which will take some work and may require a fire ring to stabilize it) or a good, heavy-duty, anodized aluminum wok with a lid. This one clearly doesn't fit. And I'm usually a big fan of Cuisinart products. But not this one.
