Great laptop, good performance at a great price

Acer has always made great products. The Extensa 5420 is no exception. Great power and very durable. The AMD turion dual-core processor is great, and the 160GB Hitachi hard drive should suit any average user. I've owned this for about 2 years now and have made a few updates (mainly because I can). The only thing that worries me is the heat development of the PC. I dusted it off and that seemed to help, but eventually it got so hot it shut down to protect the CPU. Note to self. don't lie on the bed/pillow for long. VERY EASY TO UPDATE and access all components. Here's what's included if required: 15.4" LCD 1.7GHz AMD Turion X2 64-bit processor 2GB DDR2 RAM (expandable to 4GB) (2 slots available, both with 1GB chips occupied) 160 GB SATA 2.5 inch hard disk 5400 RPMSATA DVD burner 8X DVD+/-RW; 42X Rechargeable Li-ion Battery CD+/- RW8 Cell (Model GRAPE32) Signalup Wireless G (NO BLUETOOTH) AC Adapter 65W 100-240V 19V Output Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) (supports up to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (that's what I use)) CONCLUSION: Acer, a company aiming to overtake HP as the world's #1 computer seller, has a reputation for quality and offers you the best bang for your buck. As for the Extensa 5420, I strongly recommend only installing Windows 7 if you can (Vista is fine, but I prefer 7 much more).
