These kits work very well. The metal crimp is heavy to make a connection, but the crimp is easy to crimp. Shrink tubing is great. They are thick, have good shrinkage, and at the end of the heat sealing process, once tightened, the sticky sealant releases from the inside of the tube, forming an excellent watertight seal. If you need to make a double connection because the ends of the wires aren't touching, the heat shrink tubing shrinks and seals over the previous tubing that was already soldered. Very effective, easy to use product. Compared to compression hoses I find this much better. You should always ensure that the gasket on the compressed ends of the hose is well sealed. They require more tools to install and are bulkier. The 3M splice kit is very easy to use and will seal long lengths of connecting wire, not just a narrow compressed gasket.
