So far a good start.

Works well but not quite as shown; The braided cable from the solenoid to the motor is a bit longer and more open than I was hoping. In some photos it is shown as a flat strip of metal neatly wrapped in tubing. I sealed the braid and coated it with dielectric grease to protect it as this piece of wire showed significant signs of oxidation on my old starter motor. My old starter motor might still be fine, a fool before me didn't properly connect the ignition switch wire's quick connector to the magnetic tab. Yes, 3rd starter, but the car has 258,000 miles on it. Keep in mind that on these K-Series 2.4L engines you will need to remove at least part of the air intake from the intake manifold to get good access to the starter. If you're trying to blindly get in from the bottom, it's REALLY difficult to get the tools on the bolts or connect the wires properly. The two bolts holding the starter to the bell housing are also a minor issue and the top one has a specially extended head to allow access at all. My Element is a 2003 EX with 4WD and a 5 speed manual, so the plenum was a little less complex than some of the later or ATs. You should also replace the metal flat seal for the air collector. I would buy it again if I had to, but I definitely don't want to struggle with this 4 hour R&R job again; this is not an old Chevy drop'n'swap.
