Columbia Boys Rugged Ridge III Sherpa Half Zip Review: Stylish, but not strong enough

As a parent, I'm always looking for warm and durable clothing options for my son during the winter months. Enter the Columbia Boys' Rugged Ridge III Sherpa Half Zip Sherpa model. While the sherpa lining is undeniably cozy and the half-zip closure adds an on-trend touch, I found the "durable" aspect of the product to be a little misleading. The outer fabric of the sweatshirt is thin and I had concerns about whether it would withstand the stresses of outdoor activities. Also, the size seemed wrong. While my son normally wears a size XL, this shirt felt extra large which resulted in fit issues and reduced warmth. On the other hand, the color (city gray) is versatile and stylish, and the overall design is aesthetically pleasing. However, for parents who are looking for really "strong" and durable winter clothing, this product may not be suitable.

Pros
  • My son loves it and says it's soft and comfortable. Everything sticks to him. Leaves, branches, borrowed..
Cons
  • The Sherpa lining makes this zip-up jacket quite warm, so it can be uncomfortable to wear in warmer weather or indoors.
