Is working! A few installation tips.

Good price, the part I got was WAI brand which says it's an American company but I assume the part is made in China. After watching a few YouTube videos, I decided to give it a try. on my 2002 GMC Envot SLT. I recommend everyone to watch the YouTube video, otherwise my advice below may not make sense. Please note that the following is not a complete guide, just some helpful tips. It was installed from above, below and from the side through the cover of the driver's front wheel housing. I had to align the top and the driver's wheel well. To be honest I'm not sure how others have overdone it 100% unless you are an acrobat! I'm 5ft 11" and have long arms so I was able to remove and install most of the top. . The two nuts on the magnets are easily accessible from above. The bottom bolt that secures the starter motor to the block was relatively easy to get out of the driver's side wheel arch hatch after jacking up the car and removing the wheel. By the way, never trust the jack to hold the car during operation, always use jack stands. There is another 15mm nut that attaches the starter to the block on top of the starter. It literally took me 45 minutes to remove this nut. I just couldn't find a good angle to get my outlet on it. After a lot of trial and error I found that LOWERING the jack and jacks lower than where the car with the tire normally sits gave me the best angle to get my socket (you need an extension to do this, total length including socket was about 6 inches). Once I did that I was able to get the nut out in 5 minutes. Once the nut was unscrewed the starter was easy to remove, instead of pulling it out from the top I just chose to throw it on the ground as there were no wires underneath and I was concerned I might snag something if I tried to pull it from above. I installed a new starter from above. Installation was reversed as above, another tip I would like to mention is that the starter cable pins were very close together. Once installed, take a picture of it with your phone and make sure the wires aren't shorted (touching) as you can't see it from above. Hope these tips helped!
