My remote control has stopped working due to a battery leak. This remote control came with the TV five years ago. So I bought this as a replacement. I watch TV every day and within two weeks the batteries in this remote ran out. This is important as batteries can leak if left unused for too long. So I thought it might be the batteries. They were old or something. So I swapped the batteries for another brand. In doing so, I discovered that the batteries I was replacing were brand new (recently purchased) and stuck in other electronics in the house (my mouse, keyboard, etc.). So I came to the conclusion that it's not the batteries themselves, it's how this remote works with them. Because all of my Logitech products use the Energizer with no problem. That's why I'm giving it three stars because it only works with Duracell batteries. Energizer batteries leak in this product. I can't say anything about other brands. By the way, if your batteries are a little crusty, take them out and look for new ones. There will be a hard layer of material that will prevent your remote from working. Just use an old toothbrush or a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean the connectors. After that it works fine.
