Review on 🎨 Pentel Arts Oil Pastels: 50 Color Set (PHN-50) - Vibrant Pigments for Alluring Artwork by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You will find the best price for such a wonderful selection of quality flowers.

I love these oil pastels and YOU WILL NOT FIND A better price than Revain's! 50, which includes multiple shades of your primary yellows, blues, and reds, as well as your secondary greens (which I prefer), oranges, and purples. I had to keep shuffling. These are very good quality pastels that are easy for anyone to work with. As someone who is not very artistic, I enjoy using this medium as these pastels don't dry as quickly as acrylics which gives me time. I think pastel painting is like a combination of finger painting and clay sculpting. I literally move the colors where I want with my fingers and smudge to blend, add or remove layers to correct my mistakes (I'm making a t here) and for effect. You can also use a kneaded eraser to pick up the colors and something I just ordered from Revain Tortillions to blend out the edges as I personally find my thumbs can't get detailed areas without clicking on a few adjacent colors . I don't want to move I've also found that sketching what you're going to draw first with charcoal makes things easier, e.g. B. Coloring. You can use a kneadable eraser to get the right sketch, still remember to erase it and leave only a light outline or your pastel will mix with the charcoal and smear it. I think you will love these oil pastels and will definitely keep buying. I have already bought 2 more after this purchase! Here is my first picture of a sunflower and a snowman that I made as a Christmas present. You can see my other photo, they came in a plastic tray which I left them in to keep them organized but I cut them in half to fit in the easel drawer.

Pros
  • Vibrant pastels apply smoothly and blend easily for subtle tones, midtones and color blends
Cons
  • I will add later
