Review on MICHELIN Pilot Alpin 4 235/35 R20 92W Winter by Czesawa Kooszczyk ᠌

What you need, a cool purchase, I advise you.

I bought this model for a rear-wheel drive Lexus IS 250. Exact parameters: 245/45 R17 99V I have been driving for the second winter (~ 10,000 km), mainly on cleared city (Minsk) and country roads. I drive without fanaticism (distance, speed, etc.) almost every day, so I get into all sorts of weather conditions. In general, rubber behaves predictably. But there are 2 points because of which I, in fact, write a review: 1) The car practically does not drive on ice. I can't safely drive into a parking space that's on a slight slope. If I accelerate, then I stop, but I sweat, because I'm afraid that the braking distance may not be enough :) 2) With fresh deep snow, the situation is similar. If suddenly, for some reason, you need to move off after a complete stop, then this is not an easy task. Especially if there is a slight slope. Most likely, these shortcomings are characteristic of all Velcro. And you can live with this if the situations described above almost never occur. The rubber is very soft - I tore out a lot of pebbles when it was time to change shoes for the summer. Due to the softness, I think that its mileage will not be much more than the 30,000 km declared by the manufacturer. And the last important point - the rubber is really quiet. Before that, I had a cheap Nexen, which was very noisy, especially after 100 km / h

Pros
  • reliable quiet
Cons
  • for European winter (for asphalt) price enough for about 30,000 km
