Review on π° GE FX12M Reverse Replacement Membrane: Enhanced Water Filtration For Your System by Antoine Cash
Not what I expected but I got it working.
The membrane itself was fine. The black o-ring that replaced my old one was too big! The lubricating silicone was NOT food safe and was clearly labeled not to be swallowed in the tube it came in. How do they ship it if it gets into your water supply? I was able to use my old o-ring and put everything back together. While I believe the OEM membrane works well, I can't believe the silicone isn't food grade and GE sent it. I'm not sure about the wrong O-ring either. I think next time I would buy from the local Home Depot so I can inspect and return it same day. Buyer Warning. Maybe it was an accident.
