It replaces the D**l Ultra Sharp U3011, which failed after a little over 4 years. I think it has a much better image and less than 1/3 the price. The 3011 doesn't have the wider aspect ratio, which I like about this monitor. You will also receive B&O loudspeakers as a gift. I think they are better than previous Beats speakers. In any case, B&O is an established audiophile brand that I trust more. We'll see how long it lasts, but an external power supply will likely fix all sorts of problems easily by simply buying a new power supply. (The U3011 had an internal power supply, of course, and I'm 99% sure that's where it failed (D*** didn't offer any service support at all, which is a sad state of affairs for a $1,500 monitor). 4 years ) So I fought back and bought HP instead and swear I will never buy anything else from D*** again.
