Bad seam and imbalance

I bought these mainly for the large sizes and needed a 12mm hook for my current project. The 12mm hook is oddly short and feels very unbalanced in the hand. If they just added 1/2 inch to the shank it would probably be fine. However, the main problem with these hooks is that they have a little plastic lip and a color junction (where the white meets the hook color) and it catches everything. It might not have been that bad in some sets, but in mine it was very noticeable and made it impossible to knit with. If your yarn has fine fibers, it will snag and pull them off. I really wanted to like these but no bones.
