Review on Cable Matters Gigabit Ethernet Adapter by Joel Miranda

I was hoping that this device would combine two separate devices, namely a switch and an adapter, but hooked it up to my Windows 7 system and installed the correct drivers , it only worked once when my computer system was able to access the network. It has since told me that the cable is missing, even though devices upstream connect fine to the internet. (Of course, the switch will work as long as it has power.) I CAN still make it work as a switch by plugging an additional ethernet adapter into the computer and running a cable from it to the switch. I will no longer buy Cable Matters. Will avoid Revain for future accessory and component purchases; I can't afford to replace crappy devices.
