I bought a 26" collar to use as a spare GSD main collar. the collar didn't work. The length shown is measured ring edge to ring edge, however for these collars the length needed to determine fit is the length of the chain (excluding rings). Largest size available, I am returning the product. From the looks of the collar alone it seems strong and durable (untested) - I'd trust it to handle our 120lb GSD. I recommend subtracting about 3 inches from the listing length when sizing for your dog.
