It would be nice if it used AA or AAA batteries

I got this because I had to send my receiver in for repairs and I wanted to keep the option of sources in my rack switch. For the most part, it works exactly as expected. I only had two problems: 1. No batteries for the remote control. It would be nice if AA or AAA batteries were used for this, but CR2025s are not that common in the home. I ended up stealing one from another remote until I could set it up with my Harmony remote.2. IR works with the Harmony remote, but unlike my other devices, I can't just plug it in with a 3.5mm cable from my IR distribution system, so I had to use the included IR receiver. Not a big deal but I want it to work like almost everything I have with an IR input like this.3. My Roku Ultra will not go to 4k at all with this thing. Of course I don't blame this switch, I think it's actually Roku. I had a lot of trouble getting my Roku Ultra to work with my receiver and it took a magical combination of cables and inputs on the TV and receiver to get it working. Once again I think it's Roku's fault. Also note that my Roku is at least 75-85 feet of cable away from the TV. I'm using Monoprice fiber optic cables and everything else works except Chromecast Ultra which also has issues. For example my Xbox One X has no problem playing 4k@60 with HDR. All in all I would recommend this. If you're using the Roku Ultra, I think it will work fine with shorter cords, although I haven't tested this.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I will add later
