I am a woman who does not pretend to be tech savvy. I hope this helps people like me. The instructions were clear and simple. I chose this modem/wireless router combo (Archer CR700, aka "AC1750") because it was on the Comcast Approved List and had excellent reviews on several websites. For those who feel this isn't clear enough, it's a modem (connects to your internet cable from the wall) and your WiFi router (connects your devices to the internet wirelessly), so you don't need a second device . You should research whether it is better to have one device or two separate devices and decide what is best for you. To get started, connect the device to an internet cable, plug in the power cord, turn it on, and wait for the blinking lights to come on. You then follow the instructions to go to the tplink website, enter your username and password and change your own preferred username and password in the WiFi settings. The Comcast setup page popped up by itself. He asked me for a username and password, my address, and that was it. I am connected. At the moment all my devices (MacBook Air, HP PC, iPhone 7Plus and Vizio TV) are connected without any problems. You'll see two options for connecting this device in your network list. Once it says "5G" at the end. I've read that this means the first is the 2.4GHz variant and the second is the 5GHz variant. I've never seen this before, so I read an article about it. Ladies, apparently 5G is faster and less interference from other devices, so I kept my devices connected to 5G. I went to google and did an internet speed test. Here are the results from my wirelessly connected MacBook: 2.4GHz - 56.5Mbps upload, 11.6Mbps upload, 5GHz - 145.4Mbps upload, 11.6Mbps upload ( I ran the speed test a second time and got 70.3 and 11.6 respectively (the third time I got 137.7 and 4.44.) Ladies, that seems fast enough to have multiple devices and still feel like your internet is fast. Again, I'm not a techie, so these numbers don't mean much to me. I pay for the internet speed "up to 150Mbps" if that helps.
