So far this has reduced most glare by 80-90% - depending on the angle at which the light hits the windows. There will never be a perfect solution, but it was close. It didn't interfere with any of my knobs or control knobs and didn't hurt not having to cut anything to access my system's knobs, which raised concerns after reading some reviews (can't tell how these fit into anyone's setup would, only in mine). Don't use a CD player with the lid closed (not sure why people even ask this question) but never mind as I use my iPod/SatelliteXM/Radio all the time - I rarely play CDs and it slides easily out when I want to play CD. NOTE: My CD slot has a standard 5 inch wide opening. The molded plastic inserts on the lampshade that fit into the CD player are a maximum of 4.75 inches wide and fit snugly. The price hasn't stopped me from recently ordering a second one (a spare in my disassembled glove box in case I break this one on one of my many trips).
