I bought one of these for my mother. After using it, I bought one. He is loud. The ID really reminds me of the tone/height of a household smoke alarm. The backlight is really cool and easy to activate by just placing your finger on the lightbulb image. It's not actually a button (doesn't move), but it detects if your finger is there and the backlight turns on for a few seconds. I already mentioned that it's LOUD. It has three volume levels, in a typical home use the lowest volume. If you use it outdoors or in a very large open area (e.g. a barn) you will enjoy loud sound. It's surprisingly well designed and has quality recessed magnets.
