This is not a yarn as you might think. When you see chunky yarn at a craft store, it's not what it is. It is simply cotton fabric sewn around the batting. I've tried everything to knit or crochet this with little success and I've been doing both for years. At first I tried knitting the arms like thick yarn but it didn't want to bend and move like yarn so it ended up being too tight and I couldn't continue. I've tried table knitting it like people do with thick yarn, but again it won't stay in place, the batting won't flex or relax like it should. So I pinned it onto my 35 knitting needles. You can't put on enough for a quilt and at this point the project is half done. I can make it ready to use as a pillow in a dog cage. I am not sure. Really disappointed. In some places it feels like the stitching is about to rip if I do anything at all. I've posted lots of pictures of everything I've tried. The picture with an 18 lb dog is for size reference only.
