I have limited desk space and of course limited funds. These speakers replaced two other small pairs I had. They have all been rated reasonably priced by reasonable standards. However, my previous choice didn't even come close. Oh what a sound coming from these bonks! Forget the fun Bose logo font; That big, bright, undistorted stereo sound is real. with five or even ten times more power than the old kits I put up with. Here in the speaker listings I've read complaints that the volume controls are too small; for this set maybe if you are coco gorilla. Honestly I don't see a problem here, the management is ok. It runs smoothly, with a nice little on/off switch and a blue "on" LED indicator. By the way, this lamp is also well proportioned. It's not too bright. But okay, if the light bothers you, just twist the speaker a degree or two. If you point it anywhere but not directly at the students, it will be sparse. Other than the gaudy, chrome-plated egg-shaped speakers, I have nothing negative to say. Long live Bonks, the king of low-budget speakers.
