Impressed with how solid it feels - all aluminum. But. Typically, in other high-end towel holders that prevent the towel from unrolling when pulled - the rod that holds the paper towel core spins with the core and has resistance built-in, so it doesn't spin freely. But this one doesn't - the rod is fixed and is slightly more narrow in diameter than the towel core (I used Bounty), so the core spins and rubs on the fixed silicone rod and it makes annoying micro-vibration sound. Moreover - the only way to unroll the towel to rip-off the next sheet - you have to grab the middle of the hanging towel and pull it straight down. If you pull down on the right side of the towel (with your right hand, as I'm used to) - this tilts the core slightly on the rod and it doesn't unroll. I also think that over time - the slight roughness of the surface of the inside of the cardboard code will erode the silicone blades and it might not work the same as new.
