Be careful to not have your finger or hand, or any other body part, between the magnet and metal.There are two things that determine how much pull a magnet has. One is the magnet itself. The other is the metal. A thin piece of metal like must auto body panels is thin and although the magnet will stick to it, the magnet is drawn to it less than a heavy gauge of steel like the frame of the auto.This magnet has a lot of magnetic attraction and it should do well 'fishing' for metal in the water.
- Overall, great tool to find coins or anything in lakes or rivers. Fun hobby to do if bored.
