I don't know how good this collar is because it smelled so bad of chemicals that me and my cat could never use it. very disappointed considering how much it costs and how good the idea and design is. so much for nature. I think I should stop buying anything made out of fabric, it just doesn't last anymore these days. Don't worry if you or your pet are sensitive to fragrances. sadly I have to say. Edit: I finally managed to get rid of the smell with a mixture of baking soda, vinegar and Dr. Get rid of Bronner! it's nice, comfortable, the cat doesn't seem to mind (she rebelled and threw a tantrum even with her normal harness if she doesn't really like it, she's good at walking but yes she will let you know if she (doesn't like her) but still prefers her to rest. The collar was the right size out of the box (I left it loose) but I can see it wouldn't fit a particularly large cat, my cat is a bit stocky but not particularly large (almost a standard tabby cat). The bracelet on the other hand needed an extra loop on my thin wrists to keep the strings from dangling too much, not a big deal I just find it a bit funny. It has held up pretty well to the wash so I think it's durable enough. The clasp is a bit tricky to disengage, but I think it would work as a safety device, especially for a fairly hardy cat like mine. For example, it might be more difficult for a young kitten or an older cat.
