I have used it on two cars in our family for several years. The tape is soft, so scratches and tears appear when it comes into contact with hard objects. But it protects the edges of the door very well and doesn't stand out as much as the clips on the hinges. (I've had issues with clips on the steps preventing the door from closing or directing sand and debris onto the paint). The film is a little self-sacrificing, so I plan to swap it out every six months or so. It is very easy to apply and remove without leaving any residue. For me the biggest challenge is that it doesn't leave chips on the door edge, doesn't damage other cars I park next to and it's easy to use. Each pack contains enough foil to make two doors. Doors that are not connected to other vehicles/walls/etc. come into contact (like my rear end of the gate) tend to stay in good condition for years, most of the wear and tear is on the driver's door.
