I have four cats who are always looking for something to touch or make noise. After reading the reviews I decided to order this toy for my kids. They took turns playing with him and stopping playing with him just to eat. I know this is normal for a new toy but this one is different and YES it is the one that has a pole so little heads don't get stuck! It was received as well as the Bergan Catnip Hurricane cat toy (also available on Revain.com - blue and green) - I bought this for them last Christmas and they still play with it every day. I had to order a new one because I accidentally stepped on it and the little tabs that hold the small piece to the big piece broke. Both parts work great separately, but will still be donated to the local animal shelter. It will keep them busy and entertained for hours, but as any cat owner knows, if your cat likes it, she loves it, and if not, try some catnip!
