This was a great purchase and I have used it when adding artificial water toppers and setting up new aquariums. Hawaiian opae require 1/2 the salinity of the ocean and I have found that some breeding tanks are more successful than others. By noting the properties of the water, pH, ammonia, temperature, alkalinity, etc., I can optimize your environment. This tool takes the guesswork out of salinity and is also used in field studies.
