I pierced a second hole in my lobes and my 9 year old daughters ears for the first time with these. It was SO simple and painless. Didn’t bother my daughter at all. I definitely suggest measuring and making a mark of some kind to ensure the holes are evenly placed. I actually used a ruler and then made slight indentations into the lobes using the posts provided with this kit. I was a little leary about using even a washable marker or even an eye liner to make a little dot, and I did not feel the need to go all out and order these surgical markers that people use. The indentations worked out fine and looking back, a tiny dot with a washable marker would have been just fine and worked better. We have had our earrings in for 2 weeks now and we did buy and use a saline after care ear piercing spray every day and that really has helped. One con to this kit is the earrings themselves are too big and bulky for sleeping on. They bother me at night and that is annoying. I have little marks on my ears where the sides of the earring pushes into my ear and it hurts. It’s not awful but the smaller and rounder the stud the better in my opinion. Love this little kit though. Saves so much money.
