Review on Bosch D3324 Distance Plus High Performance Oil Filter: Unleashing Optimal Engine Efficiency in a Single Pack by James Cypert

Works, Inexpensive, Meets Specs

What can I say? I read several reviews online about oil filters. Bosch PREMIUM gets good reviews. The price is right. That's a bit more than the Honda Fit's OEM, which is good. It fits perfectly. It won't break the bank. I have ordered 2 for my next scheduled oil change in 10,000 miles. In earnest. My wife's 2012 Honda Fit just put 10,000 miles on the original oil before the driver said it was necessary. In 4 decades I have heard so many arguments about which oil and filter to use and people have been very excited about it. Let me give you an old piece of advice that is still relevant today. When it comes to engine life, it's more about changing the oil and filter as needed than what type of oil or filter you use. It's not that there isn't a strong reason you can expect longer engine life when using a specific oil or filter. I'm sure it's true. But no, it's much easier. If you're trying to figure out for yourself which oil and filter to use, ask yourself when was the last time you wore out your engine. Most people change cars every 4 years. Personally I've had one I bought new over 20 years ago (130,000 miles), another for over 15 (135,000 miles) and another with 250,000 miles (can't remember years). I've religiously changed the oil and filter all at 5000 mile intervals. I've used everything from premium filters to Walmart Tech filters and oil to synthetic oil and premium filters. None of them have NEVER had engine problems. The cars around these engines eventually fall apart. This is my point of view. So many people think they have to use one or the other to get the most out of a car they'll be replacing themselves in about 4 years anyway. They don't even give themselves a chance to wear out. So. Change the oil and filter regularly and according to the manufacturer's recommendations. "Meet the specs" and don't worry. Just my 2 cents.
