The box itself is transparent and of excellent quality! Very easy to assemble, but YOU MUST REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE LAYER FROM BOTH SIDES OF EACH PART. I used a razor to gently pry open a small area in the corners and it came off easily. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the mounting hooks a bit wider to fit all sizes of holes in the lid. My hood has a hem and one of the hooks broke when I tried to pull it over the hem. However, it still works great when a hook is attached.
