I had several hundred slides hidden in my garage. Untouched for 40 years. Set up the device. Installed the software and started scanning. Many slides of people were so bright that their faces were obscured. First disappointment. Don't worry Tried NeroPhotosnap Viewer, Thumbs Plus, Paint and Adobe Photoshop Viewer. There was still no happy camper. I soon realized that the film's original exposure was to blame. Then it dawned on me why not try Blaze. Unfamiliar with it, I started playing around with Features.1. Open Blaze Photo 2. (Double click the icon)2. Click the four squares icon to view the photos in the storage folder.3. Double click the image you want to edit.4. Click on the "Edit" button5. Click on the red hammer6. Color selection button.6. Move the sliders to change the image to your liking.7. Reset to start over. Apply button to save changes.8. Click the preview button and you will be asked if you want to save your changes. So now I say "play around with the included software" before you decide you don't like your PICS2PC. Now I am very happy with mine. I have read all the reviews and if you are unable to learn new things I advise you to have your slides made by someone who charges for them. Now it works perfectly for me. I'm happy! now. PICS2PC is vendor dependent. Severely underexposed overexposed bad sharpness too light bad photos are scanned unchanged. You need to edit your scans to make them look their best. The Blaze software works great with my scanned slides. Steven P.
