Although this tensioner is more expensive than other options, it's heavy, made in the USA, works great! This is definitely a case where you get what you pay for in terms of functionality and quality. I put it on the factory hitch on my 2018 4Runner and had to install it slightly differently than the instructions stated due to the way the hitch is. did. Instead of grinding down the safety chain loop like another 4Runner owner/reviewer mentioned (no, bueno, IMO), I inserted a U-shaped design from the bottom and right through each of the safety chain loops. The round bar is then fastened to the top of the object in the coupling as usual. Nuts tight and it's TIGHT. 👍👍
